ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Public Works Department strives to improve the quality of life in Phoenix through efficient delivery of outstanding solid waste, fleet, facilities and energy management services.
The City of Phoenix Publics Works Department is seeking qualified candidates for the Equipment Operator II position. This position performs a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks associated with the delivery and repair of refuse containers. Employees are responsible for the receipt and inventory of all containers, associated parts, and operating equipment necessary in the delivery, disposal, and repair of containers. The Equipment Operator II works outdoors in a variety of weather conditions exposed to the elements.
$16.75 (minimum) – $22.55 (maximum) hourly / $34,840.00 – $46,904.00 annually

The City of Phoenix has paused plans to implement a federal mandate requiring all city employees be vaccinated against COVID-19. This decision comes after a series of legal challenges and a ruling from a federal judge which temporarily halts the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for federal contractors nationwide.
